World Aids Day

World Aids Day is held on 1st December every year and and is an opportunity to unite in the fight against HIV, show your support for people living with HIV in Scotland and remember those who have died.

Research shows that the rate of HIV infections in the UK is increasing and that knowledge about HIV and how it is transmitted is declining.

You can play your part in the prevention of HIV by raising awareness and educationg yourself and others on how to protect yourself and your partners.

As World Aids Day approaches there are a few simple steps you can take to show your support;

  • Wear a red ribbon
  • Visit http://www.hivfacts.org to find out more about HIV and prevention
  • Talk to your friends and workmates about HIV to increase their knowledge and challenge help stigma
