National Gathering registration opens!

LGBT Youth Scotland’s National Gathering, the biggest event for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people in the country is back! This year it is taking place at Stirling University from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th August.

The theme this year is Act Yourself! This will mainly involve working with drama professionals to create and perform your own short scenes around issues faced by LGBT young people. You will start with a warm up session, full of fun drama and improvisation games, followed by a 90 minute session to devise and develop your own 5 minute drama piece. Later in the day, everyone will perform their piece to the other groups. If acting is not your thing, there will be a small selection of related workshops looking at:

  • Theatrical make up
  • Filming and camera work
  • Film editing
  • Comic strip writing

As the National Gathering has a more detailed theme this year and there is so much demand on places, please think about if the activities are something which really interests you before signing up.

Other activities included over the weekend are:

Friday Night Challenge: A chance to get to know everyone, and have some fun

NYC Campaign Workshops: Learn about the new proposed campaigns

NYC Campaign Vote: Pick your two favourite campaign ideas

LGBT YS Awards: Awards for young people and projects from last year

Disco: Theme TBC

Service User Review: A chance to tell us what you think of our online services
