MEP Jumps out of a Plane to Raise Funds for LGBT Youth Scotland

Scots MEP Alyn Smith and his partner jumped out of an airplane to raise money for LGBT Youth Scotland, smashing their fundraising target.

During a filmed tandem jump over St Andrews Alyn, an LGBT Youth Scotland trustee and MEP plunged to earth in freefall - reaching speeds of 120mph - before both landing safely aided by professional skydivers.

Alyn said:

“It was an amazing experience and all thanks to Skydive St Andrews for looking after us. We are delighted to have raised £600 pounds for LGBT Youth Scotland, a great charity doing important work.

“The just giving page remains open, if anyone is minded to contribute I know the money will be put to good use!”

Fergus McMillan, Chief Executive of LGBT Youth Scotland said:

“Alyn and Jonathon's sky dive demonstrates the great heights our supporters are willing to go to, to improve the lives of LGBT young people.

“Fundraising efforts like this are the boodline of our organisation, and provide vital funds to enable us to continue to support LGBT young people across Scotland."
