New Impact Report on LGBT Youth Scotland services

‘The work of LGBT Youth Scotland, makes a significant contribution to young people’s health, wellbeing and learning’.  These are the words of Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Children and Young People in the foreword to our new report ‘Transforming Lives’.  LGBT Youth Scotland is proud to announce the launch of this national impact report which was formally launched by the Minister for Children and Young People, as part of LGBT Youth Scotland’s 25th Anniversary celebration on March 4th.
Transforming Lives is an impact report which looks at LGBT Youth Scotland's youth work services. In August 2013, LGBT Youth Scotland commissioned independent consultants Ali Coates and Alison Cameron to examine, through qualitative research, the organisation’s range of direct youth interventions, delivered across many areas throughout Scotland. This was to identify individual experiences and common themes, and to explore the outcomes and impacts of these activities. The research findings are presented as a series of cartoons, compiled by Terry Anderson of the Scottish Cartoon Art Studio. The key aim of this work has been to gather evidence which illustrates the ways in which the activities of LGBT Youth Scotland contribute to international and national policy, including the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and the Scottish Government’s key policies and national outcomes, including GIRFEC and Curriculum for Excellence.
We were very pleased to be able to launch this report within a celebration of the impact of our work.  You can see the report in full by clicking HERE
The research and report was completed with assistance of funds from the National Voluntary Youth Work Organisation Support Fund which is administered by YouthLink Scotland on behalf of Scottish Government.
