February is... LGBT History Month

We have already heard from so many of you about the exciting events you have planned for LGBT History Month 2015. From plays to readings to community celebrations, it's shaping up to be another exciting year!

Click here to let us know about your events so we can list them in our brochure and promote them on our social media channels.

LGBT History Month is a community effort, and it wouldn't be possible without the passion and commitment of people from all over Scotland coming together and hosting events.

Still want to hold an event? It's not too late!

You have until Monday 15th December to get your event listed in the LGBT History Month 2015 brochure - all events will be listed on the LGBT History Month website.

Check out the LGBT History Month Scotland website for more information, resources and tips on how to plan your event.

Due to a change in the funding schedule at Creative Scotland, we have not been able to secure funding to support our Cultural Programme this year, and will not be able to offer our Cultural Events grant scheme. Do think about connecting with other organisations and seeking sponsorship.

We are still in the process of trying to secure funding to support the Cultural Commissions and will publicise more information as soon as we have confirmation.

Friday 27th February is... Purple Friday

When LGBT Youth Scotland surveyed LGBT young people from all over Scotland, almost 70% of them said they had experienced homophobia, biphobia and transphobia at school.

To mark the last Friday of LGBT History Month, we’re asking Scottish schools, colleges and universities to allow staff and pupils who stand up against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia to wear purple to school.

Individuals can also take part in Purple Friday by tweeting us their #purpleselfie on Friday 27th February.

Let us know if your school, college, university or society will be taking part - and make sure you tweet us on the day!

LGBT History Month Scotland is a project delivered by LGBT Youth Scotland.
