Event Highlighting Bisexual and Transgender People's Experiences of Domestic Abuse

On the 8th of September in Edinburgh, LGBT Youth Scotland and Scottish Women’s Aid invite you to join us (1:30-4:30) for an event highlighting recent research on bisexual and transgender people’s experiences of gender based violence, and to launch two resources.

The agenda will include world café style discussion on the findings and next steps.

Research will include bisexual and transgender specific statistics from LGBT Youth Scotland’s reports on Community & Identity, Safety, and the Sexualisation of LGBT young people, as well as an input from Scottish Women’s Aid on research on bisexual women’s experiences of domestic abuse. The resources are the updated Stronger Together guidance on including transgender women in single sex services, and the Voices Unheard resource on teaching young people about LGBT people’s experiences of gender based violence.

Audience: Staff and volunteers working with young people (i.e. educators, youth workers,
