RespectMe launches new campaign at national conference

RespectMe launched a new campaign 'Before you give advice, get some' at their national conference on Tuesday 19th December in Glasgow. The campaign looks to ensure that adults have the correct information around dealing with bullying, before giving advice to children and young people. A powerful video accompanies the campaign to highlight the potential risks of giving children and young people bad advice when they're being bullied.

Young people from LGBT Youth Scotland also shared their good advice on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in schools, to an audience of educators and youth work professionals. Alongside sharing some powerful personal stories, they highlighted the important statistics from LGBT Youth Scotland's 'Life in Scotland for LGBT Young People: Education Report' which shows that work still needs to be done.

The young people also spoke about the LGBT National Youth Council's 'Time For T.E.A.' (transgender education awareness) campaign, and continued to gather support through their photo pledges!

Director of RespectMe, Brian Donnelly, joins the LGBT NYC campaign saying 'It's Time For T.E.A.'
