About the Rally?

The Equality Network are coordinating a Rally outside the Scottish Parliament on the day that the Scottish Parliament will hold its final vote on whether to pass the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Bill. LGBT Youth Scotland are supporting and attending this Rally, we want to urge MSPs to support LGBT equality and pass equal marriage into law. This is our final opportunity to show MSPs the strength of support that exists for equal marriage.


LGBT Youth Scotland Calls for Youth Volunteers

Are you 16-25 years old? We would like to invite you to join LGBT Youth Scotland at the Equality Network Rally. LGBT Youth Scotland will meet Youth Volunteers at 12:15 outside WHSmith at Edinburgh Waverley train station. You don’t have to already be involved with LGBT Youth Scotland to Volunteer with us at this event. We will leave Edinburgh Waverley at 12:30 prompt to join the Rally.  As this Rally and vote will take place during LGBT History Month, please remember to tweet status updates and photos to #lgbtsmallsteps. Also please feel free to bring any banners, posters or project t-shirts with you to the Rally. Please register to let us know that you will be joining us by completing this short registration form.

Equal Marriage Celebration

If you are over 18 years old, after the vote takes place the Equality Network will be holding a party to celebrate the efforts that everyone has put into the campaign over the years. Join the Equality Network at Hemma Bar (75 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AE – round the corner from the Scottish Parliament) from 18:30 until late for food, drinks, music and a few speeches from some of the key MSPs that have supported the marriage equality campaign. There will be no LGBT Youth Scotland support at this event. Anyone who is over 18 who would like to join the celebrations is welcome to attend. You do not need to register in order to go along, but please register if you already know that you plan to attend because it will help the Equality Network with planning!
