LGBT Domestic Abuse

LGBT Youth Scotland manages LGBT Domestic Abuse Scotland, which works across Scotland to raise awareness of LGBT people's experiences of domestic abuse and improve service responses to LGBT people who experience domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

We do this in a number of ways;

  • Conduct research on LGBT people’s experience of domestic abuse and other forms of gender based violence
  • Influence local and national policy development
  • Create and distribute resources
  • Support domestic abuse services to achieve the LGBT Charter mark
  • Provide training on LGBT experiences of domestic abuse
  • Support delivery of the Fearfree service: a support service who work with LGBT and male survivors of domestic abuse
