LGBT Care Experienced Young People's event

Are you LGBT+? Aged 13-25? Care experienced*? This event is for you!

LGBT Youth Scotland's Care Experienced Youth Commission is running an event to bring young care experienced LGBT people together to meet new people and share experiences.

What will happen at the event?
During the event you will:

  • Hear from LGBT Youth Scotland's care experienced youth commission - a group of young people working to change the care system for the better for young LGBT people
  • Hear from the Care Review's stigma working group
  • Have the opportunity to share your experiences with the stigma working group and the LGBT youth commission
  • Participate in a range of fun activities

You are welcome to bring a carer or supporter with you to this event, just let us know their name on the signup form.

*We consider anyone who has had the following experiences as being care experienced:

  • Lived in foster care
  • Lived in residential care
  • Lived in secure care
  • Been in kinship care – living with a family member other than your parents or a family friend (either formally or informally)
  • Being adopted
  • Lived at home with involvement from social services/a social worker
  • Date & time
