Fundraise for LGBT Youth Scotland

Fancy running a marathon, hosting a bake sale, dying your hair purple, shaking cans at a community event?? There are loads of ways to raise funds to support our work.

Get on your bike, get your running shoes on or lace up those walking boots and get your family and friends to sponsor you – maybe you have signed up for an event already… if so drop us an email to fund@lgbtyouth.org.uk and let us know what your challenge is and then download our Fundraising Pack to get started. Remember to set up an online fundraising page with Virgin Money Giving for your event. If you’re not quite sure what you fancy then here are some ideas for you:

Speyside Kiltwalk 14 Aug
This is one of the more challenging Kiltwalks, but walkers are rewarded with a route through some of the most scenic and rugged areas of the country. Eagle eyed walkers might spot a red squirrel, an osprey, pine marten or even the odd eagle while having the time of their lives in the fantastic Scottish summer weather!

The Mighty Stride (26miles) starts in Buckie and follows the coast west to Spey Bay before turning south and following the Spey Way. At Fochabers The Big Stroll (16 miles) begins and joins the Spey Way, then both walks carry on for another 16 miles before arriving at the finish line in Aberlour. The Wee Wander is a five and a half mile trek along the Spey Way, starting and finishing in Aberlour.

100% of the money you raise in sponsorship is donated to LGBT Youth Scotland to support LGBT young people across the country.

At the Edinburgh Kiltwalk you’ll get a real taste of the city with a route taking you through the city centre and out to the coastline before returning via the iconic Arthur’s Seat to Murrayfield Stadium.

The Mighty Stride will have you passing through Gypsy Brae, Granton Harbour and Victoria Park, crossing the cobbles of Leith to then walk Edinburgh’s lovely Promenade. Then it’s back inland heading for Arthur’s Seat, and a glance at the Palace before hitting the home stretch to enjoy the final celebrations.

If covering the whole city of Edinburgh isn’t for you, but you still want to get involved why not sign up for the Big Stroll at around half the length or the Wee Wander (12pm Start – Registration open from 11am) Setting off from Gypsy Brae, the little over 5 mile trek will still get you back in time to enjoy the after party!

100% of the money you raise in sponsorship is donated to LGBT Youth Scotland to support LGBT young people across the country.
