National Gathering 2009
The weekend of 11-13th September was our long awaited national event for LGBT young people and their supporters to come together and take part in workshops, games, sports activities, a glitzy awards dinner, masked ball, and our annual elections for young people to take part in the LGBT National Youth Council (NYC).
“im gutted its over guys D= oh noes thanks for my award im CHEESING xD thanks loads for a fantastic weekend also =]cya next year =D”

Young people’s feedback
The theme for the weekend was alternatives and covered sports such as hula hoop, street dance and zumba, creative activities including scratch dj-ing and clothes customisation, healthy eating and makeovers.
Around 90 young people from all over Scotland took part including Aberdeen, Angus, Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh and Lothians, Fife, Glasgow and Lanarkshire, Scottish Borders, and Stranraer.
The national gathering also gave young people the chance to democratically vote on our policy priorities for the year ahead.
After passionate speeches across four policy areas delivered by NYC members the gathered young people decided to prioritise campaigning for equal marriage rights and for pro-democracy and anti fascism work.
The coming year will see us work with the NYC to influence policy in these areas at a local and national level, as well as campaigning with other LGBT rights organizations in Scotland.
