Commonwealth Games 2014
The Positive Futures and Commonwealth Games teams at the Government would like to know what difference the Games will make to young people, their friends, their families, communities and country. They have asked Young Scot to carry out this consultation, which can now be found online at
www.youngscot.org/cg2014 to complement the Government’s own consultation.
We’re looking to get as many responses as possible to reflect the views of young people across Scotland so it would be fantastic if you could promote it to any young people that you work with. The legacy isn’t just about Glasgow and sport, the Government wants to make sure that the whole country benefits in a variety of different ways.
This is a great opportunity for young people to tell the Government what they would like to get out of the Games and what difference they would like them to make to their lives. It might be the opportunity to volunteer and learn new skills, or improved transport from where they live to Glasgow to allow them and others in their community to attend the Games easily.
LGBT Youth Scotland would encourage everyone to take part in this consultation, especially considering LGBT people are not particularly well-represented or visible in sport.
