National Internet Outreach
The National Development Team will be running our new National Internet Outreach service on our Forums, Facebook, and MSN Messenger.
We will be using the Forums as a safe and supportive online space for anyone who wants to find out more about how to challenge homophobia in their community and to get tips for using information communications technology from their peers and trained staff.
We will also have a wider reaching presence on Facebook where we can update our fans about what we are up to, what events are coming up, any useful websites we have found and to get the message out that we are here to support you.
Finally, we will be providing one to one support via MSN Messenger to LGBT young people who need to speak to a youth worker but have no LGBT groups in their area. This will mirror our advice and support services but be delivered online to young people in need. Referrals can be made to us by filling out our online referral form on our website:
www.lgbtyouth.org.uk/referral.htm
So if you are LGBT, want to find out how you can challenge homophobia in your community, or are a friend, parent, carer or supporter of LGBT people, please get in touch.
We will be online during the week and have focussed National Internet Outreach sessions on:
Tuesdays 6-8pm
Fridays - 6-8pm
For more information or to speak to a youth worker, please email info@lgbtyouth.org.uk
