“LGBT History month is a most welcome development. It is much easier to know where you are going, if you know where you have been – that is true of all history, and because change has come so rapidly, this is particularly true of the history of LGBT issues. I am sure this month will be a revelation of many moving tales, a spur to further action, and an inspiration to all." Robin Harper - Green MSP

LGBT History Month Planning for 2011

Theme – Relationships

This will include spotlights of Relationships, Equal Marriage, Coming Out, Families, Work place

LGBT History Month is held annually in February as a showcase of the histories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

The last two years have seen around 500 events across Scotland ranging from exhibitions to story-telling events to film screenings to LGBT nights in pubs and clubs. This coming February is going to be even bigger and better, but we need your help to make it a success.

Planning groups will give you a chance to share your ideas for events that you would like to see and organise in your local community.

We can offer support and materials for organising events and will publicise them through our website.
