Green Light
LGBT Youth Scotland's Green Light Campaign is a ground-breaking new project to support young people to 'come out'. ‘Coming out’ is when lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender people tell others their sexual orientation or gender identity. This is still recognised as a really difficult process for LGBT people, so the more people show their support, regardless of their sexuality or gender, the easier this process will become.
Student LGBT Officers Training Weekend
The Green Light Campaign's next project is a training residential for students aged 16-25 to design a toolkit for starting and running an LGBT group at college or university. This will take place over a weekend in February or March 2010. Dates to follow shortly.
If you would like to take part in this residential, please complete the form below. There are 18 places available and all travel, accommodation and food will be paid for.
To sign up for this residential, please fill in the form at the foot of this page.
Past Projects
So far the project has trained young people to deliver workshops on 'coming out', and worked with groups of young people to design two new coming out guides around gender identity and sexual orientation.
If you would like the Green Light Leaders to deliver their coming out workshop to your class or youth group (non-LGBT group) and you have permission from your teacher or youth worker, let us know by sending an email to info@lgbtyouth.org.uk
This project is supported by the BIG Lottery fund
