Our Vivid Stories
Our Vivid Stories is a partnership project between LGBT Youth Scotland, GOMA (gallery of modern art) and Our Story Scotland. Funded by GOMA and LGBT Youth Scotland, the work was developed by Our story Scotland supported by LGBT Youth staff.
Nine young people worked for 12 weeks, on average 6 hours per week, constructing ‘their individual stories’ an then creating individual films to tell their story. There is a wide and varied mix of different digital media formats used including music, film, photography, drawing, cartoons, stock frame animation and others. Each story is approximately 5 min long and the young people verbally narrate their own story.
The movies have been made into a single DVD which will play on continuous loop in Gallery 4 at GOMA for aprox 3 months. As well as the DVD there will be an LGBT Youth resource stall installed in Gallery 4 for the duration of the exhibition, which will allow the public to access information should they wish after watching the films.
There is an official launch on Wed 8th April at GOMA at which all young people will be attending.
