Workshops

Prejudice Promoters

Examining how media, education, the workplace and sport make prejudice the norm. (Stonewall Scotland)

Challenging Homophobia and Transphobia in Education

Examining the experiences of LGBT young people in Scottish schools and ways in which the hearts and minds agenda can help us to further challenge homophobic and transphobic bullying. (LGBT Youth Scotland)

Arts and Culture

Do we think the cultural calendar in Scotland is inclusive of LGBT people, communities and experiences? And if not, what do we want to see change? How can we develop an LGBT affirmative cultural strategy? (LGBT Youth Scotland)

Gender Perspectives

The workshop will discuss gender stereotypes and how these lead to prejudice against LGBTI people. We will look at the themes of the Hearts and Minds report and explore how thinking about gender will help us to promote equality in these areas. (LGBT Youth Scotland and Equality Network)

Influencing Change: Leaders

How does leadership affect positive change? How do we develop the LGBT leadership for tomorrow’s world not only within the political arena, but in our communities and workplaces. We will look at what we can do to encourage and develop good leadership as a positive lever for LGBT equality in Scotland. (Equality Network)

Panels

Changing Hearts, Changing Arts

A panel of artists and arts organisers will discuss the role of arts and culture in celebrating diversity and challenging prejudice against LGBT people.

Dynamic Diversity: Race and Religion
