Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) will be holding a day exploring gender and identity as part of their social justice exhibition sh[OUT]: Contemporary Art and Human Rights on Saturday 2nd May 2009.
Beyond Drag: Performance workshop
1.00-4.30pm
Delivered by Nancy Riach and Nikki McCabe, performance artists, activists, events coordinators and community artists, this workshop uses all the fun of dressing up and role-play to explore gender and identity from all angles. Use an extensive collection of costumes, wigs and props, to experiment with new identities and develop monologues to tell your own stories.

Beyond Drag: An evening of entertainment
8.00-11.00pm
A selection of performances exploring drag, gender and identities, ranging from promenade performance, flamenco and cabaret. The programme includes performance interventions from Tackno Team, Sandra McBeth's gender-ambiguous Scottish Cabaret, and the rhythmic stylings of Salsa cubana. Audiences can also enjoy the relaxing sounds and stunning visuals of B&D sessions, and a drag makeover corner coutresy of Fancy Nancy.
