The Corner

"The Corner" provides a wide range of confidential health and information services for young people aged between 11 - 25 years. This includes contraception and pregnancy testing, information on housing issues, money, employment, drugs, alcohol, mental health, individual support, opportunities to take part in training, drama, arts, free internet access . . . and much more! From simple information to individual support which could be about any number of things: relationships, school, health, sex or just wondering if you are normal? (a common one!). We want to make sure that young people find it easy to get the service they need and find out what else we and other agencies can offer them.

Remote Reporting - Tayside Police

Remote reporting allows members of the public to report crimes to Tayside Police without speaking to an officer directly. A report can be made either by filling in a form or by attending at a "Remote Reporting Site" and reporting the crime to a member of staff there.

The service is aimed at all members of the public who may feel anxious or intimidated about contacting the police directly. This could be for a variety of reasons including a fear of additional victimisation or a lack of confidence in the criminal justice system. In particular, people who are the victims of hate crime often face such cultural or social obstacles to reporting attacks and threats. Remote Reporting enables victims to report their experiences to a third party organisation, which will then communicate directly with the police, whilst encouraging and supporting the victim throughout any subsequent investigation process.

You can make a remote report by visiting the Tayside Police website:

www.tayside.police.uk/contact_remotereporting.php

If you need an immediate response from the Police, please call 0300 111 2222 or dial 999 in an emergency.

Representation

LGBT Youth sits on the Tayside LGBT Forum, Dundee Partnership, Strategic Community Advisory Group and local Youth Work Partnership Groups. We are working closely with the Dundee Council Equalities Unit.

If you have anything you would like to be raised at these meetings please contact us.

Schools Work

Over the next few months there will be a new worker starting in Dundee to deliver schools work in the area for 3 years. This is an exciting innovative project and we look forward to new developments.

We also anticipate the start of a new under 16’s group.
